Goodwill is my Target, y’all: I cannot leave with just one thing. Here are some of my favorite Goodwill finds this week.
“Let me light up your life.” — what the lamp was thinking, probably.
I don’t know what it is, but recently I’ve been all about some lamps, so when I saw this ivory shabby-chic number, I couldn’t leave it stranded on the shelf. What can I say, I love lamp. Of course, there’s still the pesky task of finding a lampshade, but for now, naked will have to do. (Yes, I realize I could just go buy one at a normal store, but me buy something new? *cackles hysterically*)
Flat wooden spoon 99¢
Rolling pin $1.99
Freakin’ precious mini whisk: 99¢
Tray with foldout legs $3.99
As I was checking out, the cashier lady held up the suspicious spoon paddle and asked, “And just what is this for, hm?” to which I replied, “Wouldn’t you like to know,” and then proceeded to wink. Cue awkward stare from the grandma in line behind me and instant regret. (Whyyy do I create these weird moments for myself?) Luckily, the cashier and I go way back (hello, I’m in the Goodwill every day), so she knew I was kidding. But that poor grandma is now traumatized for the rest of her life.
Anywho, so contrary to popular belief, my first thought(or second for that matter) for the spoon was not a weird spanking paddle, but instead rather innocent wall decor. (I sense a hand-lettered kitchen sign happening soon…) I have a couple of ideas for the rolling pin, none of which involve using it for its original purpose, but we shall see where that ends up. For now, rolling pins have just become my the latest addition to my ever-growing list of things I’m currently collecting. And how cute is that tray for breakfast in bed? Adorable. But I’ve actually been using it to prevent my laptop from giving me 90 degree burns on my thighs. Not quite as adorable.
Wire basket 99¢
Wire basket $1.99
West Elm mugs 99¢ each
Just keep me away from the basket/box/section at thrift stores, because I CANNOT resist. I’m convinced that having baskets/boxes in my life will make my life instantly organized and full of meaning, but instead I’m just basking in a collection of baskets. Maybe I should put the baskets in the baskets?
Wire mesh is my weakness; I mean, I’m trying to pull off farmhouse chic over here. (Pretty sure Johanna Gaines would approve of these, and that’s all that matters.) I’m thinking the basket on the right would look awesome as a magazine holder for the wall.
And I couldn’t leave those mugs behind. Wouldn’t they be perfect in a gift set like this from A Pumpkin & A Princess?
See, there’s a method to my madness. #Christmaspresents
Denim H&M shirt $3.99
Navy Gap Sleeveless Shirt $1.99
Black and Burgundy Striped Shirt $2.99
Polka Dot Denim Button-Up #3.99
I also added a few favorites to my wardrobe. Stripes, denim and dark colors — yes, please! I can’t wait to incorporate these into my
fall slightly cooler wardrobe!
