Hello lovelies! This week was particularly enchanting at the thrift stores because I scored some of my all-time favorite things to hunt for, and in some magical way, they all seemed to give off fall vibes.
I like to celebrate the seasons any way I can.
Anywho, let’s take a peek inside the shopping bag, shall we?
Pyrex Amish Butterprint 502 Loaf Pan 69¢ (!!!)
Yellow Pyrex 501 Fridgies $1.99
In case y’all don’t know, I have newfound Pyrex
collection obsession that involves “jog-walking” to the kitchen section of thrift stores, manically rifling through breakable items and audibly gasping whenever I find a little Pyrex treasure/dying inside when I don’t. I’m not talking that clear glass boring stuff that’s a dime a doze, but rather the whimsical patterns that seem to have taken over my life. (Case in point: I am proud member of the Pyrex Passion group on Facebook where I swap thrifting tales with the gals who were probably alive when Pyrex was invented. #grandmalife) I’ve been looking for a Butterprint pattern for a while now (No idea what I’m talking about? Get the scoop on Pyrex patterns here.) because that turquoise color is destined for my kitchen. Not to mention, it matches my pride and joy (the Kitchenaid mixer) perfectly.
And of course, the mini fridgies are just about the darn cutest things EVER. Bonus: they both had their lids.
Wire chicken 99¢
Add on another to my obsession list: chickens. (Must be the whole “growing up on a farm” thing?) I’m planning on spray painting this clucker with Krylon’s Oil-Rubbed Bronze spray paint because the copper color isn’t doing it for me. More on that to come. I also really love how this chicken looks cross-eyed at certain angles. Weirdly endearing.
P.S. Did you notice the freakin’ Friendship Pyrex bowl in the background?! My mom had been hiding that in her cupboard all these years and nearly gave me a heart attack when she casually mixed up some biscuit dough in it this weekend for breakfast. Needless to say, it’s now where it belongs: in my kitchen. (Sorry, mom, but your daughter has a #pyrexproblem.)
Gap down jacket $5.99
I swear this looks less like a trash bag in real life.
Why do I continue to buy winter coats when I live in Florida? Because GOOD DEALS, that’s why.
Vintage Head tennis skirt $2.99
I was so excited when I noticed these pleats poking through the rack of denim skirts, and I got even more excited when I realized this vintage gem still had the tags on it. 80’s tennis player for Halloween, anyone? Buy it from me on Etsy.
Rolling pins 99¢ each
Remember when I mentioned rolling pins were now officially on my collecting list? Well, this happened. I now have three! (Still don’t know what I’m going to do with these and open to ideas.)
Bag of pinecones $1.99
This is why my husband thinks I’m crazy.
Yes, I bought pinecones at the Goodwill. I am planning ahead for Christmas crafts that will probably never happen. Don’t judge me.
Bonus thrift find!
I dug this out of my neighbor’s garbage pile. #noshame
